"KUMUSTA PO? Ok ang place at school namin dito ni Julie. Ngayon lang kami nakapagpa-install ng phone at internet connection. I have visited the school and my room. Kakaiba sa rooms sa Pinas. Well furnished dito. Carpeted. Lahat ng instructional materials pwedeng maorder sa catalog.  Thanks a lot po sa inyong tulong. God bless you always. Regards to all."

“Filipinos have a good command of English, very well educated and they learn fast. They work hard and they have good family ties.

They will make great Canadians.”

“Mga kapatid, maraming salamat sa inyong tulongsa amin na mga naririto sa Canada. Ok lang kami dito at sawa sa dami ng ot at halos wala na ngang pahinga kaso sayang kasi kung mawawala naman ang ot kasi malaki din naman ang tax, Anyway, kayo na ang bahala sa aking mga kaibigan or mga relatives na pupunta dyan at mag-aapply. Ok, have a good day always and more  power!”

“Eto mabuti naman kami.  Today is the last day of school at start na ng summer school sa June 4.  I’m more busy than the others kasi sila tapos na ng turo, ako may inventory pa ng library.

I enjoy my stay here. I believe the kids here are more manageable than those who are in the city.  Simple community, simple life!  And I am taking this opportunity as a treat for myself, na parang nagbabakasyon lang ako.

I already applied for my dependent.  Isa lang muna ang kukunin ko, then tingnan natin kung makasama, isusunod ko ang iba ko pang mga anak. My husband has a stable job there so we have no plans to leave his job.  We never know what is in store in me after 2 remaining years here.

Good luck to your new applicants.

Hope to see you in July.  Ako lang ang magbbakasyon dyan.”

Dolly Decinal – Librarian / Elem Teacher - Ajo District

“Hello! Happy Holidays to all of you.  My family and I would like express how thankful we are for the opportunity you had given me.  Well I could say I'm so lucky to be assigned here in Ajo.  The first time Dr. Dooley had brought us here (when he fetched us from the airport).  I was so speechless. I know that we will be brought in a remote town but not as secluded as I expected.  But as the days went by I was able to realized that the town has more stored in it.  The people were so hospitable and I really felt that they were so happy that we are in their town.  In my case, well special education department here is being monitored by Arizona Department of Education.  So my work is a bit toxic as compared to Mila and Dolly.  There were nights that I slept in the school just to finish my paper works.  But not anymore now because I already have my laptop and I could do my paper works at home. With regards to my superiors, they are so supportive to me, teaching me whatever I have to learn in our department.  Dr. Dooley had sent me  and will still send me to different seminars and conferences for Special Education to enhance more my knowledge in this area.  I have to end now my letter, regards to everybody.”

Marichou Beltran - SPED Teacher - Ajo District

”Hi everyone! I'm doing fine here in Globe, Arizona. Though students are difficult to handle, I'm pretty much adjusted to them already. It's getting colder and colder every day. There isn't snow here but I will have some more pictures taken when it begins to fall. Missing you all!”
